Although the community of Hilton Head, a division may seem strange, with many gated communities, to separate the population of the island, the truth is that they are all an important part of the larger island community. All share a love for the natural beauty of the island and the southern way of life slowly encouraged by the many beaches, tennis courts, golf courses, restaurants and more. Every year there are many events that lead to this community, with residents and visitors invited to participate. Some of these events are made here for many years, and others are more recent additions.
Hilton Head Celebrity Golf Tournament Iceland is one of the longest running community events on the island, now in his 29th Year. This is a charity event in which the individual or group sponsors golf with a celebrity for three days in three different areas. Sponsors play with different celebrities every day. Sponsors of the event can be from Hilton Head or out of town, but can enjoy food and a series of evening events, in addition to playing golf with a celebrity. The event benefited several charities for children, including celebrities such as Child Abuse Prevention Association and the Children’s Fund relief. NewerHilton Head community event is the elegance and Festival d’Councours engine, now in its eighth year. It has been proven a very popular event, and is actually four events in one. The Classic Savannah / Hilton Head speed is in Hutchinson Iceland, across the river from downtown Savannah. Includes historic racing and “lap Rides” where participants sit in the passenger seat, while an accomplished racer, a sports car with the speed of home runs.
The Midway Motor is basically a non-competitive cars and bikes from different eras, with other auto shows, as well. The Club Car Jamboree is a competitive program in which car clubs invited to present their best cars. Finally, the actual Councours d’Elegance a competitive showcase of classic cars to be seen by many as one of the best classic car shows in the United States.community event known island is undoubtedly the Verizon Heritage Classic, the annual Pines, Harbour Town Golf Links Course at Sea Plantation. It is the only PGA Tour event in South Carolina.
